Manjusha Kulkarni-Patil sings for cancer patients at Gupte Hospital
June 18 '06: Renowned vocalist Smt. Manjusha Kulkarni performed here in Gupte hospital auditorium. She started her recital with 'Alankapuri ..' (Jhaptal) and followed this beautiful compositions with Natyageets and Abhangs. She concluded her recital with a 'Gawalan' Shreeranga Kamalakanta. She was accompanied by Harish Bhavsar on Tabla and Meenal Nandedkar on harmonium.
Dr. Ravindra Gangurde sings for breast cancer patients at Gupte Hospital
June 11 '06: Renowned vocalist Dr. Ravindra Gangurde pleased the breast cancer patients today with a treat of semi-classical vocal music. He started his performance with a 'Nandi' and later a famous natyageet 'Chandrika hi janu'. Later in his performance he sang natygeets from 'Sangeet Manapman' and 'Katyar Kaljat Ghusli'. Harish Bhavsar accompanied the artiste on Tabla and Meghan Shreekhande on Harmonium. Dr. Ravindra then performed 'Jagi ha khas vedyancha pasara' on demand from a patient.
Santoor player Dilip Kale at Kshipra Hall
June 04 '06: Dilip Kale, desciple of renowned santoor artiste Pt. Shivkumar Sharma, performed at Kshipra Sahniwas Society Hall for breast cancer patients. He started his recital with a 'dhun' in Raag Pahadi. The Pahadi Dhun took hold of all the audience and the audience demanded for another beautiful dhun from the artiste. Early in the evening the patients rehearsed a composition and lines from Sangeet Ratnakar in the form of a 'Shloka'.
Violinist Atul Updadhye mesmerizes the audience
May 27 '06: Renowned violinist Atul Upadhye performed at Kshipra Sahniwas Hall for breast cancer patients. He started his recital with Raag Bheempalasi followed by Raag Miya ki Malhar and a Bhajan. The concert came to an end with a bandish in Raag Bhairavi. Shri Sutar accompanied the artiste on Tabla.
Sitar concert for cancer patients
May 21 '06: Shakir, son and desciple of renowned Sitar player Us. Shahid Parvez, performed at Kshipra Sahniwas Society. He started his concert with Raag Des (Jhaptal) followed by Raag Khamaj. Rohit Mujumdar accompanied Shakir on Tabla. Early in the evening the breast cancer patients listened to shlokas (lines from Sharangdev's Sangeet Ratnakar) and rehearsed a bandish composed by Dr. Vikas Kashalkar.
Rishikesh Gangurde in concert
May 13 '06: Rishikesh Gangurde, desciple of Pt. Ulhas Kashalkar today peformed at Kshipra Sahniwas Society. He started his performance with Raag Malkaunse followed by Raag Bahar. The concert came to an end with a Bhajan in Mishra Mand. Mukul accompanied him on harmonium and Prashant Phatak on Tabla.
Mugdha Bhat in concert
May 06 '06: Mrs. Mugdha Bhat, desciple of Dr. Vikas Kashalkar performed at Kshipra Sahniwas Society hall. She started her recital with Raag Bheempalasi followed by few semi-classical songs. She ended her concert by a Bhairavi Dadara. Shashikant Atak accompanied her on harmonium. Earlier in the evening patients tried to sing a composition taught by Smt. Aarohi Rajurkar. Milind Tulankar played Jaltarang for few minutes on demand and audience were spellbound while listening to pure sound of this old indian instrument.
Pawan Naik and Pramod Gaikwad in concert
Apr 30 '06: Pawan Naik on Sunday performed at Kshipra Sahniwas Society hall, Pune. He started his recital with Raag Shri followed by a 'bhaktee-geet' from Ramayan. Later in the evening, renowned Shehnaai player, Pramod Gaikwad played Raag Madhuvanti followed by a film song.
Sanjay Upadhye and Mamata Kakade in concert
Apr 23 '06: Sanjay Upadhye, desciple of renowned violinist Atul Upadhye, performed at Kshipra Sahniwas Hall, Karvenagar. He started his recital with Raag Bhimpalasi, an afternoon melody. This was followed by a bhajan in Mishra Mand. Mamata Kakade later came to stage and rendered Raag Shyamkalyan. Harish Bhavsar accompanied both the artists on Tabla.
Sunil Awachat performs for breast cancer patients
Apr 15 '06: Sunil Awachat, disciple of Pt. Hariprasad Chourasiya, performed for breast cancer patients in Kshipra Sahniwas Society, Pune. He started his recital with an afternoon melody, Raag Patdeep (Aalap and badish in Teental) and brought his concert to an end with a dhun in Raag Pahadi. Later in the evening Aarohi Rajurkar and Anjali Malkar both performed together Raag Maribuhag (Jugal Gayan) and a khamaj Dadra 'Sudhi a lini jabase gaye'. Harish Bhavsar and Meenal Ghate accompanied them on tabla and harmonium respectively.
Dr. Rasika Ekbote and Milind Tulankar perform at Kshipra Sahniwas Hall
Milind Tulankar, a renowned Jalatarang player, on Sunday played Raag Ahirbhairav on Santoor. Dr. Rasika Ekbote started her performance with Raag Madhuvanti, an afternoon melody. Bada Khayal was composed in Vilambit Ektal followed by Drut teental. Dr. Ekbote later performed a famous Natyageet (Semi-classical) 'Mam Aatma Gamala' in Raag Bihag. Dr. Ekbote concluded her concert with a Ram-Bhajan. Nilesh Randive accompanied both the artists on Tabla.
Volunteers recorded systolic, diastolic blood pressure and pulse rate before and after the concert to find some surprising results. About 20 patients participated in this programme.

Apr 01: Mukul Kulkarni rendered Raag Bhimpalasi and Raag Yaman at Niwara hall, Pune. Prasad Karambelkar accompanied on Tabla, Milind Tilankar on Harmonium. Tanpura accompaniment was given by Anand Chikte and Vikas Bhave.
Session 2: Inaugural function and vocal recital by Shweta Datar
Mar 25: Music therapy for cancer patients was formally inaugurated on Saturday at Niwara Hall, near Patrakar Bhavan, Pune. Dr. Vikas Kashalkar, a renowned vocalist from Gwalior gharana expressed his views and spoke about need to do such experiements. He also mentioned few such efforts and the effect of music in daily life. Dr. Rajiv Sharangpani, a famous pracitioner and a fluatist himself spoke about how the Nad (sound) is produced. Both experts were of the opinion that hindustani music has lasting effect on one's life. Dr. Kashalkar mentioned in his speech that these efforts will surely be helpful in studying the effect of a particluar Raag. Dr. Sharangpani also answered few queries raised by the patients. Session 1: Jaltarang and vocal recital
Mar 18: Milind Tulankar played Raag Ahirbhairav on 'Jaltarang' and Dr. Vikas Kashalkar rendered Raag Bhimpalasi. Nilesh Randive accompanied both the artists on Tabla. It was decided roughly that patients will be meeting once or twice in a week for listening to live music.
