Musical Education

Started learning classical music from Smt. Lilatai Gharpure right from the age of six years. For the last ten years , she is taking systematic lessons and guidance from the eminent Guru Pt. Dr. Ashwini-Bhide-Deshpande of the Jaipur- Atrauli Gharana and accompanies her for vocal support in concerts throughout India as well as abroad. Saniya has passed the 'Sangeet Visharad' with distinction.

Saniya is a 'B' grade artist of AIR and gives regular performances on 'Akashwani'. A daily riyaz of 6-7 hours, Saniya has gained mastery over different forms of music with a versatile voice (e.g. Khayal, Thumri, Dadra, Gazal, Natya-Sangeet, Bhavgeet, Tappa, Tarana, Bhajan, Abhang, Folk Music (Rajasthani, Gujrati, Punjabi) Saniya does systematic exposition of the Raag structure, brilliant phrasing, variety of taan patterns, ease and grace in all of the three octaves mark her singing. She does not merely present the gammer of a Raag, but can build it up into an aesthetically pleasing experience.

  4. Recently completed a successful USA tour (March-May 2005) with 32 concerts all over USA in all major cities and towns in 2.5 months. It contained many forms of Indian Classical, Semi Classical and Light music.
  5. A program based on 'Holi' telecasted on Doordarshan National Channel
