Ravindra Parchure

There is a fear among the Indian classical music fans that the difficult art of Hindustani Vocal Music is in its last stages of life. I have promised myself not only to keep this art alive but to nourish it with my passion.

Tutelage

I started my formal training in hindustani classical music (vocal) under the guidance of my father Shri Shripad Parchure and later from Shri Appasaheb phadke, who has served music with his own passion and deep understanding. I found my guru for ragdari in form of Shri Manohar Bhagwat, a well known vocal classical maestro from central India. Presently learning from Pt. Arun Kashalkar, a leading vocalist successfully carring the torch of Agra gharana. I found this tutelage as a student of master of arts degree course in Centre for performing arts (Lalit Kala Kendra) of Pune University.

Remarkable Achivements

• Performed classical vocal recital in Akhil Bharatiya Kalidas Samaroha, Ujjain - 1996.
• Composed and directed group songs for centenary celebration of Madhav collage Ujjain - 1999.
• Performed in 'Sargam' on Doordarshan's national network - 2000.
• Performed classical vocal recital in Brihan maharashtra Mandal Annual Conference held in Lucknow - 2000
• Performed in 13th Yuva Sangeet Nritya Mohotsav at Belgaum,held by south central zone cultural centre nagpur - 2000
• Performed in Nohata Sahasrabdi Samaroh Damoh organized by govt. of M.P. in Damoh - 2000.
• Achieved 2nd prize in National Competition of music held by Brihan Maharashtra Mandal New Delhi - 2001
• Received Smt. Charuta Welankar Award conferred by Sajan Milap trust Mumbai - 2003.
• Achieved 1st prize at Panvel cultural centre's Indian classical music compitition - 2004
• Achieved 1st prize in Bal Gandharva Classical Music Competition held by pune bharat gayan samaj pune - 2004
• Performed classical vocal recital in Akhil Bharatiya Kalidas Samaroha, Ujjain - 2004.
• Stood first in Pt. Ratanjankar Khayal Gayan Competition - 2004 Organised by Ganvardhan Pune and Pt. Ratanjankar Foundation Mumbai carring cash prize of Rs. 24,000/-.
